Same Flavor, Different Strength: When the direction holds but the intensity shifts
“Same Flavor, Different Strength” is one of SM Personal Test's gap patterns between your Public face (the play style others see) and your Hidden face (the desire you feel). It describes what happens when the direction holds but the intensity shifts.
What is this pattern?
Your public and hidden faces point the same way, but some leanings differ in strength. You might play a hundred-strokes-with-the-crop kind of top in public while your private desires run closer to ten swats by hand. Or the reverse: in public you seem curious about a little light bondage, while inside you would happily hang in rope for hours. Maybe you turn the character up a notch, or maybe it runs deeper inside. Either way, you get to enjoy the same flavor at different strengths.
Tips for living with it
Noticing that you might be turning it up for the crowd helps explain why you tire out. With someone you trust, try putting the strength that feels just right inside into concrete words: how many, how long, and which toy.
How it is detected
You fall into this pattern when no axis switches direction, but on at least one axis the gap between public and hidden faces is 1 or more on the scale, and too large to put down to measurement error.
