The Sweet-Faced Secret Sadist: Masochist (bottom) on the outside, Sadist (top) on the inside
“The Sweet-Faced Secret Sadist” is one of SM Personal Test's gap patterns between your Public face (the play style others see) and your Hidden face (the desire you feel). It describes people who are Masochist (bottom) on the outside, Sadist (top) on the inside.
What is this pattern?
In public you come across as reserved, the one who looks like they would wear the collar, yet when you fantasize alone you are the one holding the leash and running rings around someone. Behind that gentle face, you may be planning where the next swat lands or how many times to bring them to the edge. The less they see it coming, the harder the gap hits.
When it tends to show
This side tends to show up when the reins are up for grabs, such as when the other person looks at you as if to ask what to do, or nobody is taking the lead and you think, "Fine. On your knees."
Tips for living with it
When you feel like taking the lead, start small. A simple "Tonight I hold the blindfold" is plenty. And of course, checking consent, confirming the safeword and handling the aftercare are part of the job when you are the one in charge.
How it is detected
You fall into this pattern when S or M alone switches from Masochist (bottom) in the public face to Sadist (top) in the hidden face. We only call it a flip when the estimated probability that the directions truly differ is 75% or higher; the other three axes keep their direction.
