Rulebook Outside, Wild Inside: Grooming (ritual) on the outside, Wild (impulse) on the inside
“Rulebook Outside, Wild Inside” is one of SM Personal Test's gap patterns between your Public face (the play style others see) and your Hidden face (the desire you feel). It describes people who are Grooming (ritual) on the outside, Wild (impulse) on the inside.
What is this pattern?
In public you come across as a trainer type who values contracts, nightly check-ins and rituals, yet when you fantasize alone you want to go on instinct, pinning or being pinned with no warm-up at all. People expect you to set everything up properly, while inside you feel like tossing the plan and going on momentum. That wild streak adds an unexpected spice to all the rules.
When it tends to show
This side tends to show up when you want to toss the plan and pin, or be pinned, right there and then, such as when a cheeky remark flies your way or the mood shifts on a trip.
Tips for living with it
Deliberately leave an unscripted stretch inside your usual ritual. With both the comfort of rules and the freedom to break out, the fun lasts longer. Just keep your signals simple enough to use in the heat of the moment.
How it is detected
You fall into this pattern when Pace alone switches from Grooming (ritual) in the public face to Wild (impulse) in the hidden face. We only call it a flip when the estimated probability that the directions truly differ is 75% or higher; the other three axes keep their direction.
